Concept Car to Production Car – What Gets Lost Along the Way

A friend of mine sent me a link that shows a bunch of .gifs with the transformation from concept car to production car, kind of like morphing in between the two. I thought it was interesting and wanted to share it with you.
Usually I think something in the styling and proportions of a car gets lost when transforming into production. There are a few cars though that seem to keep that concept feel all the way to the streets. Some of them are the BMW i8, the Camaro when it came out looked insane with its low profile greenhouse, the Land Rover Evoque still has that concept car proportions in my opinion. For some reason I also like the Mazda 6 sedan!
Others on the other hand loose pretty much everything. Like the Renault concept in this link. It just doesn’t bring anything from the concept over the manufacturing. I’ve always been a fan of French concept cars, but most of them are just cool as concepts. (Except the Citroen DS3, love that hatchback in a black/orange combo).
What do you think? What is your favorite concept car that made it into production? Comment below and let me know!
