What Will I Learn From This Course?

Are you struggling with your digital sketching? Have you tried learning from books only to realize it's not that easy to learn from pictures?

In this video course you will learn the basic tips and tricks used to render design ideas in Photoshop. Use these techniques to build up your portfolio, create a new design project or maybe you just want to show off your skills to a friend. This course walks you through the process from early ideation doodles and quick sketches all the way to adding highlights and shading.

Here is some of what you will learn in Wacom Crash Course:

  • How to practice ellipses and how to sketch them in perspective
  • The techniques to quickly get ideas down and render them in Photoshop
  • How to add highlights
  • How to add shadows
  • The basic tools used for shading
  • How to render a car from line work
  • To block out shapes and silhouettes
  • Why having a light source is super important
  • How to add weight to your design
  • ...and a lot more!

An original way to add perspective

The author is an extremely talented artist, and he also has developed his own way of showing perspective in his drawings... he calls it "cloud perspective" and he says it is faster than the traditional lines and vanishing points we all learned in schools... and it works.

I frankly did not understand the title of this course ("Wacon Sketching Crash Course") and I expected it would show me how to use a tablet for drawing... but it turned out to be a truly excellent tutorial on how to obtain certain using some of the authors original tricks. This will work with Photoshop and also other paint programs that work with layers (and most of them do.)

A Neat Intro to Digital Sketching

Very enjoyable videos and lots of information to demystify designing using Photoshop - I think that to really get the most out of it, it is worth watching the videos a couple of times at least. It'll be great to go deeper into these methods in the other two courses. Essentially, the course is excellent for consolidating the main tenets of sketching whether online or offline (line, light and shade for example). The Photoshop tools used in these tutorials are not advanced, so it's not off-putting for someone who hasn't got a great amount of experience with this software. I found myself skipping back a few seconds to catch a couple of little details but it was okay. I like the quick pace, the explanations and the instructor's enthusiasm for his subject . It is amazing to see how a couple of tricks can achieve so much. Thank you to Marouane for putting it together. See you on the next one. Kirsten

Excellent course!

Since, I am not an artist but loved the way you used air brush to paint and erase the layer contents. One thing that I liked the most is to practice with drawing ovals in all ways. Perhaps, it will help me to learn how to draw easily. Thanks a lot for sharing your knowledge and tips.

Love the cloud concept...

...basic sketching, but I really liked the cloud sketches. Gave me something to think about in terms of approach in free-form design. Great job!
