Mute the Outside Noise & Focus on What You Want

Interesting story, when Mozart was composing at the end of the eighteenth century, the city of Vienna was so quiet that fire alarms could be given verbally by a shouting watchman mounted on top of St. Stefan’s Cathedral.

It’s interesting to compare this with modern times. Although you can easily find a place to hear yourself think, the noise we have today is different. Twitter, Facebook statuses, notifications buzzing in your pocket, news, TV shows, video games, updates, upgrades.

I think a lot of people are confused about what they want to do with their life because they are looking outwards for advice on what they are suppose to do.

I think its extremely hard to figure that out unless you mute the outside noise to really think about what you want out of life. You gotta figure that out by looking inwards.

I thought I knew what I wanted for a long time, up until a couple years ago in fact. I worked my a** off to get to that point. But when I got there, I realized it wasn’t what I wanted, it was more what I was expected to do and thought I wanted, because that’s what everyone else seemed to do.

What I want to get through is this – Make sure you are taking action towards something YOU want, something that makes you want to get out of bed in the morning and makes you grow as a person. If you don’t know that yet no worries.

Just realize that not everyone has to fit the mold of what society or your parents and friends think you should do. There are unlimited possibilities to do what you really love to do and make it work, especially in today’s world, just keep your mind open.

I hope you’re having an amazing day!
