There Are Always Massive Failure Behind Every Success

I picked up my first marker in 2007 and man, I sucked at it. I got frustrated every time we had a marker sketching assignment in college because I knew it would turn out like crap. But every time I saw a sweet marker render, I was amazed. I loved it. It’s something special about sketching with analog tools.

I decided to practice every day until I could sketch like them, I still have a long way to go. That was 9 years ago.

The point here is we rarely hear about the years of practice and progress that leads up to getting to where you want to be. This stuff takes time. Don’t think there’s such a thing as an overnight success in any area, not just talking about design. Do the research and you’ll find out about the massive failure behind every success.

But where most people would give up, the few percent that says “f*** it, I’m going to give it another shot” are the ones that eventually figure it all out. Keep failing! Every “failure” brings you closer to your goal. There are no shortcuts to any place worth going. I hope you have a great Sunday! And keep doing what you know you should be doing :)
