Top 5 Sketch Tablets (and my personal choice)

As a designer, I know firsthand how overwhelming it can be to choose the right drawing tablet. There are so many options out there, and it can be tough to decide which one is the best fit for your needs and budget.

When you break it down, they are all very much alike. Pricing sometimes comes down to what logo is on the device.

That's why I've compiled a list of the 5 best selling drawing tablets on the market, based on my own research and experience.

  1. Wacom Intuos: The Wacom Intuos is a classic choice that I've seen recommended time and time again and I can see why. I bought a Intuos 3 wide in 2007 and it still works today. This is not a display tablet which makes it more affordable.

It comes in three sizes (small, medium, and large) and has a pressure sensitive pen for precise control. The customizable shortcut buttons and multi-touch surface are also great for easy navigation. In my opinion, it's a great option for those just starting out with digital sketching on a tight budget.

  2. Huion Inspiroy H640P: If you're really on a tight budget there's another, cheaper alternative. The Huion Inspiroy H640P offers a lot of value for the price. It has a smaller 6 x 4 inch drawing area but still comes with the 8192 levels of pressure sensitivity and a battery-free stylus.

The customizable shortcut keys and lightweight design make it easy to use and transport. Hard to beat and a lot of value for the price.

  3. XP-Pen Deco 01: The XP-Pen Deco 01 is a mid-range drawing tablet that I've personally had great experiences with. I've tried a bunch of XP-Pen tablets, both display and non-display and they've never let me down.

It has a large 10 x 6.25 inch drawing area and 8192 levels of pressure sensitivity, and the battery-free stylus is a nice touch. The slim design and customizable shortcut keys make it a convenient choice for both studio and on-the-go use.

  4. GAOMON PD1560: The GAOMON PD1560 is a display tablet that boasts a large 15.6 inch display and 1920 x 1080 HD resolution. The battery-free stylus has the standard 8192 levels of pressure sensitivity, and the tablet itself has a sturdy, durable build.

GAOMON may not be as well known as the other tablet brands but with very similar tech. This is good since it brings the price down. The wide viewing angle and adjustable stand make it comfortable to use for long periods of time.

  5. Huion Kamvas Pro 20: The Huion Kamvas Pro 20 is another high-end option with a massive 20.5 inch display and a resolution of 1920 x 1080. This is my personal tablet since 2019. The reason I prefer this tablet is it doesn't have any customizable buttons on the tablet, which is pretty rare. I never use them anyway and wanted strictly a clean, uncluttered display to sketch on. I use the keyboard for any other functions anyway.

You can check out my review of the Kamvas Pro 20 here.

The battery-free stylus has 8192 levels of pressure sensitivity, and the slim design makes it easy to transport. The wide viewing angle and adjustable stand make it comfortable to use for extended periods of time.

Overall, each of these drawing tablets has its own set of features and price points to consider.

The Wacom Intuos is a reliable and versatile choice, while the Huion Inspiroy H640P is a budget-friendly option.

The XP-Pen Deco 01 and GAOMON PD1560 are great mid-range options, and the Huion Kamvas Pro 20 is a top-of-the-line choice for those willing to splurge.

Ultimately, the best drawing tablet for you will depend on your personal preferences and needs as an artist.

I hope this list helps you in your search for the perfect tablet!

I like gaomon, which is half the Wacom’s price.
